Bill Roche, Dynagraf:

"Due to the surprisingly short delivery time our MAN Rotoman 40 was productive much more quickly.' The renowned company Dynagraf in Boston (USA) had been looking for a good press for more than a year so they could start serving a new market segment. 'We were put in touch with GWS through a business contact. After visits on both sides, we decided to place an order: after upgrading, the MAN Rotoman 40 which GWS had located for us proved to be exactly the right answer for our plans', says Bill Roche, President of Dynagraf. Dynagraf specialises in high-quality printed matter, such as annual reports of multinationals and brochures for banks. A new press was needed to strengthen Dynagraf's position on the market for high-quality full-colour work. 'If you look at the cost of a new press, when you still have to gain a position in the market for this kind of printed matter, then it's logical to also consider a rebuilt/reconditioned press', says Bill Roche. 'We were impressed by the expertise that GWS showed in handling our order. The MAN Rotoman 40 was thoroughly upgraded in the expert hands of a team of eight GWS engineers. They completely renewed the machine's control system with touch screen panels and PLCs from Siemens. They also fitted a new MEGTEC dryer, Perretta ink fountains and a WPC system. We use the WPC system instead of the usual colour and cut-off register controls.

Extra orders through fast delivery times.

Bill Roche was pleasantly surprised by the smooth service provided by GWS. 'We agreed months ago that the press had to be operational in April 2001, and by mid-April we had completed all the tests. After Easter we started production, and apart from the usual hiccups that arise with all new or rebuilt presses, there were no problems. Existing customers have already qualified us for extra orders, for which the rebuilt MAN Rotoman 40 is already very productive', says Bill Roche. So it's no surprise that his conclusion after the successful co-operation with GWS is: The only difference between new and rebuilt is the cost and the delivery time."
